This Little Gem is an oil painting inspired by the hydrangeas garden from the Christchurch Botanic Gardens. This was a study to prepare for larger paintings of my Hydrangeas Series. I’m pleased with the way I managed to capture the fleeting light and colours of the blooms through spontaneous brushstrokes of oil paint.
